A secret from the past threatens to shatter the lives of four people: the "happy couple", Gwen and Tony, who are planning to get married and Gwen's parents, Margaret and Geoff, who have been "happily married" for almost thirty years. We see how each of the characters are forced to deal with the truth, and how they each battle, through various methods, and with varying degrees of success, to take control of the past. How willing is each one to keep up the facade for the sake of happiness?
